‘These are photographs that speak about the intoxicating desire Stieglitz felt for O’Keeffe, the allure of her physical presence, and the profound, palpable impact that one person can have on another.’Sarah Greenough
Alfred Stieglitz (1864 - 1946), in addition to his own career as a photographer and major proponent of photography as an art form, documented Georgia O'Keefe starting in 1918 until the end of his life.
He took over 300 photographs of her, which spanned decades of her life. These images show motifs that appear in her paintings (bones, for example) as well as other visual associations that represented her art and accompanied her in portraits.

Versus the other documentary-type photos that Stieglitz was known for (like The Steerage, 1907), I find his portraits of O'Keefe more visually appealing because of how personal and poignant they are.
